| E-MAILS FOR 2006
We're starting a new year. Send me an email, especially something interesting and I'll post it. If it's really interesting I can post it on the blog..
For those interested
in the Letters Archives you can dig through these:
Letters Archives 1, from 2000 to 2004
Letters Archives 2 from 2004 to 2005
And hey, I'm posting these letters just like they were typed so
all spellings are those of the author's. My responses will be in
red (but I'm not typing angry). Also if you don't sign your email with your name I will simply list you as "anonymous."
Hi, my name is Christopher and I am a 16 year old heterosexual kid living in the UK. I wanna thank you for being a good person. There should be more people like you in the world. As a Christian I feel ashamed there are fucktards like Phelps targeting homosexuals. I have read this bullshit that Fred Phelps and his asshole family have been saying about homosexuals. I hate these kinds of fucktards that spread homophobic comments around.
Now, I know that the people that visit this site express their views against the idiotic views from the twats from Westboro Baptist Church. I don't really want to piss people off any further but I have seen an interview that has one of the members of Westboro Baptist Church being interviewed by fox news
this is the link: (This will offend some people)
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/114818/thank_god_for_september_11/
As you can see from the title of the link, you can see why I am pissed off. These comments that were said at the interview are pure bullshit. I cannot believe they go to the funerals of the fallen soldiers and then start
protesting against homosexuals and saying "thank god for September 11" this is so offensive to so many of the people who have suffered because of this terrible event. I am against the war, but these brave soldiers have put their lives on the line and they deserve some respect.
Personally I think it people who have views such as these twats who are
causing the further increase of racism and homophobia. The people in the video are racist homophobic wankers who need to fuck off to somewhere else which does not allow the freedom of speech because they don't deserve this basic right.
Ok now I've given my view on this, I have one other view. Now I might get owned on this view of mine but. If god made all people in his image and if god "hated" homosexuals, then why do homosexuals exist?
In my view that contradicts the bullshit that Phelps and Fucktard and Co are saying. It makes sense to me but it might not to you.
Also they say that the Jews are the real Nazis. How? Those fucktards, How is possible when the closest thing to the Nazis are these walking talking bags of shit. They are the Nazis, you know why, because they believe the same things as the Nazis do. They are racist and they are against homosexuals. These people are another example of the cancer that is slowly destroying the world.
Now, I've established that twats like these unfortunately live in this
world. What we gonna do? Well this site is great, I am glad that there are some people who accept people for who they are and not what their sexual orientation is these people include the people that visit this site and the webmaster of this site. So well done to you guys and girls.
But one last thing I would like to say thanks to. Now I don't know much
about these people but they take action against these fucktards that target funerals and homosexuals. These are a huge group of bikers who follow the Westboro Baptist Church gang and as soon as they start to protest they revv there Harleys to drown out these idiots who chant they racist homophobic ideas.
These groups of people are called the Patriot Guards. Can you please add this to the links page?
This is their official site:
http://www.patriotguard.org/
So well done to them too - Keep up the good work dude!
P.S: sorry for the strong language.
P.P.S: love your website; fight the evil all the way.
Wow! I didn't know Christians were allowed to use the words "Fucktard" and "Twat". I'll have to go back to church sometime. Must have loosened up since I've been gone. I added the Patriot Guards to the links page, thanks Christopher.
hey. well i was looking at your site, and i just wanted to say. its kinda pathetic.
I dont suport gays and stuff, but you really shouldnt be saying that God hates them, cuz i'm a christian,
and i believe being gay is wrong, but God still loves them. just as much as he loves everyone else. and u
say that your artwork is "God inspired", thats kinda messed..maybe u could present ur thoughts about gays in a
different way? u kno...try telling people that God doesnt hate them just cuz theyre gay...that might help...but
whatever...just wanted to let ya kno there is a better way...ttyl..

Y'know, I get a lot of these kinds of emails. Do young people understand what the word "homophobe" means? It seems like a lot of them don't and assume this site is targeting homosexuals instead of targeting those who hate homosexuals. I don't want to say that the upcoming generation is illiterate but it makes me wonder.
Your site is great; I love it. I've taken the liberty of adding it to the
Links on my blog. Do I expect a link exchange? Nah. But, if you were to insist... I guess that would be, you know, okay. Or, not. It's not like I have a lot of traffic or anything. I very much support what you're doing and just want you to know that I'm doing my small part in getting the word out about your site.

You are linked, Candace.
hey man,
just saw a link to your website on the protest the hero website
(www.protestthehero.com)... first I 'surfed' your site for a while... then had to check out godhatesfags. well i honestly... TRULY understand why you would bring how ridiculous these peoples ideals are to my attention.
I ended up sending them an email just because I would feel like i was letting them get away with it if I didn't (keeping in mind that they must get a lot of hate mail)... had to. I ended the email with some fun of my own "if I ever saw any of you shouting at a family who had just lost a loved one, I would not hesitate to fuck you in the ass.
long live satan,
pat (young/straight/angry)"
the satan thing was just salt on the fuck them in the ass wound.
take care.
Ahh, punks will be punks. I'd rather have the young angry at the right things than not angry at all.
Hi Jeff,
I'm a fourteen year old girl and im straight but that really doesnt' matter. I reside in a town that's relativley medium, it's main source of income is tourism. I came across a link to your site, and I just wanted to say that you've done a really good job, and it's really funny. Over the course of this year I've come to notice that they're are people who are I guess you could say homophobic by default (example: It's not that I don't like gay people, I just wish they wouldn't do things in public.) Of course I'm only in the 8th grade so views on political issues and gay rights didn't vome up often. Some of my friends are homophobic and its really sad. It alludes me that people who are so smart and kind can hate people that they don't even know and disapprove of an issue that has no direct affect on them. Im sorry I may have rambled, but thank you very much for creating this sight and helping people understand others at least a little better
~Kia~
Some of the smartest people can come up with smart-sounding reasons to exclude the gay community from our society. Hopefully more fourteen year olds will have this mature kind of thinking and grow up to be smart and tolerant.

Hi jeff
I was surfing the web after I herd about all these hate sites against gays. So I wanted to check these sites out to see what reason could they possibly have for hating me. I couldn't believe some of the conclusions that they had reached, such as all the deaths in Iraq and 911 were because of god punishing America for supporting the gay life style. So after viewing these sites I was really feeling down and wanted to see if there were other sites that took aim at these hate groups. I was happy to see this site. So jeff I thank you for keeping the hope alive that one day we will get past all this hate and learn to accept one another.
I don't believe there is a hell for we are all gods children and like a mother who loves her child no matter his or her choices are god loves us.

Well, I don't believe there is a hell or a God. These are, so far as the evidence implies, human inventions that are easily abused by loudmouths who want to push their own rhetoric. If God exists, I wish people would let him speak for him or her self instead of speaking for him. It might be less noisy then.
Hi Jeff,
First let me say that I think your website is great! You have used wit and humor to combat an ugly, evil menace, and I commend you for it. The world needs more people like you.
I am a 50ish hetero woman, but I have gay friends and I love them very much. I thank you for your efforts which benefit not just gay people, but anyone who is decent and moral and rightly offended by the venom spewed by Mr. Phelps.
Thanks,
Cyndie
Hi Jeff,
thank you very much for creating and maintaining your site. I just found out about the Phelps in a local paper today and I've e-mailed their site and I'm so completely disgusted that I can't think of anything else. From looking at their web site I found out that they will be picketing in Denver next week which is where I live. I will be going there to confront them. i was wondering if you know of any groups or websites where I can find other people who might be going there to protest these unevolved monkeys. I would appreciate any information if you have any.
Thanks again and keep up the good work,
Eric.
If there are groups that are actively involved in protesting Phelps, etc, please email me and I'll post your links and info.
You really are some twat.Your TOTALLY discriminating Homo's.You sicken me.You are the most scummiest homophobic person i have ever come across.Every one is untitiled their own opinion....but making a website about it?
Arsehole.
Another person who thinks my site is homophobic when it is just the opposite that is true. Are these people reading the info on my site?
So God sent you an e-mail, huh? I'm just writing because even though I REALLY hope my kids don't grow up to be gay, I think Fred Phelps is a psycho lunatic. Your site is funny as hell! Thanks for brightening my day!
Donovan
I'm one of those reasonable hetero's who knows how to take a joke. Keep up the good work, any page that pisses of the fundies is a good page to me!

Jeff--
It seems that today, people spend a lot of time justifying their opinions and their beliefs and not a whole lot of time relying on common sense. So, thanks for a funny, intelligent website that tells the truth: We're all human, we're all fallible, we all essentially want the same things-- so who cares what our individual sexual proclivities are? Sexual orientation is not the be-all and end-all of personality or morality, and neither is religious adherence (or non-adherence). This world has a whole lot more important things to worry about than who's sleeping with whom. Thanks for pointing that out!

If any group or person wants to contact Eric, please email me and I'll forward it to him. As I'm sure numerous other people have done, I would like to thank you for creating and maintain this site. I, myself, and not a gay man, but I am an active gay-rights activist. I live in Western KY, which isn't exactly the best place to be a free-thinker. I was just passing the time on my laptop when I came across an article about Fred Phelps. I have sent an email to the site godhatesfags.com in absolute disgust of what they were doing. Anywho...I just wanted to email you and thank you for what you've done! Keep up the great work! =)

I appreciate the support. This site is about how much time I have for activism, so the more gay-friendly activists willing to get out and about the better.
I came across your site through Protest the Hero's site. The title "god hates homophobes" immediately caught my eye and I had to laugh out loud a little bit. I wasn't familiar with Phelps at the time, but now that I am, the irony of the title is that much more humorous. I consider myself to be an agnostic atheist, so I don't believe that there is in fact a God to be on hating on anyone, but I think that for people to assume that God is hateful towards anyone without any means of proof is ridiculous. Of course, everyone is entitled to believe what they want, but when I learned of Phelps and his actions, I was disgusted. Again, he is free to believe what he wants, but what makes him think that he needs to push his twisted views on the rest of the world, and particularly on those who he is discriminating? His continuous picketing and harassment might make a little more sense if he believed that he was helping these people. But he doesn't; he thinks that homosexuality is an unforgivable sin and that homosexuals are incapable of being saved. I just don't get it. I strongly dislike mustard and I don't believe that there is anything that can be done to change my mind. Does that mean that I would be justified in harassing the mustard makers and other mustard supporting folk? I know that this is a silly example, but my point is, like homosexuality, mustard exists and will continue to exist weather I hate on it or not. So what's the point? Why can't people stop judging others by what is so completely irrelevant to their general character? I believe that people are born with their sexuality. It's nature, not nurture. Most people would agree that it would be unjust to discriminate against those born with brown eyes, so why do so many find justice in discriminating against homosexuals. My friend's mom once told me that if I didn't find a boyfriend soon I would turn gay. I was in awe of her ignorance. I think that the problem is a lack of awareness. I applaud you and your efforts with this site in raising awareness where it is due. And the satirical humor just makes the site that much more enjoyable.

For those who are confused by the term "Agnostic-Atheist" it often refers to what is called a Weak Atheist versus the opposite term Strong Atheist. I never preferred the Weak and Strong labels as they felt kind of odd. All that agnostic-atheism means is that because you cannot know there is a God/gods so as a result you do not believe in them. This does not mean you are not open to new evidence or new definitions of God/gods but that the current evidence and definitions are lacking. I started calling myself an agnostic-atheist when I realized how many people are unaware of what atheism means or how atheists generally think. I've found that most atheists are in the agnostic-atheist category. The Madalyn Murray O' Hair type of atheist is more rare because most atheists don't want to make a claim there is no such thing as a God or ever will be--something which is impossible to know or provide proof for. I think as people understand this we will see more people calling themselves atheists because it is not a close-minded position but rather one of inquiry. Really it is the beginning of knowledge to put aside all beliefs and then examine each claim one by one. If you make a claim of the supernatural people simply want proof. Especially in an age where there should be higher scrutiny of any extraordinary claim. And especially if you're going to tell us your "claim" tells us homosexuals are going to hell and we should condemn them. |
