FRED PHELPS PROTESTING AT FUNERAL IS BULLSHIT

Hi, my name is Christopher and I am a 16 year old kid living in the UK. I wanna thank you for being a good person. There should be more people like you in the world. As a Christian I feel ashamed there is a church like this targeting homosexuals. I have read this bullshit that Fred Phelps and his asshole family have been saying about homosexuals. I hate these kinds of people that spread homophobic comments around. Now, I know that the people that visit this site express their views against the idiotic views from the twats from Westboro Baptist Church. I don't really want to piss people off any further but I have seen an interview that has one of the members of Westboro Baptist Church being interviewed by fox news this is the link:

As you can see from the title of the link, you can see why I am pissed off. These comments that were said at the interview are pure bullshit. I cannot believe they go to the funerals of the fallen soldiers and then start protesting against homosexuals and saying "thank god for September 11" this is so offensive to so many of the people who have suffered because of this terrible event. I am against the war, but these brave soldiers have put their lives on the line and they deserve some respect.

Personally I think it people who have views such as these twats who are causing the further increase of racism and homophobia. The people in the video are racist homophobic wankers who need to fuck off to somewhere else which does not allow the freedom of speech because they don’t deserve this basic right.

Ok now I‘ve posted this I have one view. Now I might get owned on this view of mine but…

If god made all people in his image and if god “hated” homosexuals, then why do homosexuals exist?
In my view that contradicts the bullshit that they are saying. It makes sense to me but it might not to you.

Also they say that the Jews are the real Nazis. How? Those fucktards, How is possible when the closest thing to the Nazis are these walking talking bags of shit. They are the Nazis, you know why cos they believe the same things as the Nazis do. They are anti Semitic and they are against homosexuals. These people are another example of the cancer that is slowly destroying the world.

Now, I’ve established that twats like these unfortunately live in this world. What we gonna do? Well this site is great, I am glad that there are some people who accept people for who they are and not what their sexual orientation is these people include the people that visit this site and the webmaster of this site. So well done to you guys and girls.

But one last thing I would like to say thanks to. Now I don’t know much about these people but they take action against these idiots that target funerals and homosexuals. These are a huge group of bikers who follow the Westboro Baptist Church gang and as soon as they start to protest they revv there Harleys to drown out these idiots who chant they racist homophobic ideas.

No problem on the swearing. I think the word "Bullshit" will eventually enter into our normal vocabulary, especially when it is continually used to refer to things that don't make sense, whether intentional or unintentional. Though I am always surprised to hear someone calling themself a Christian use such language. However, in the UK I don't think you guys are as puritanical as some of our more radical Christians here in the US.

The only problem I have with this argument from the perspective as an atheist is that I can extend this argument to almost any person. Like Why did God create Hitler? I mean God knew what Hitler was going to do beforehand. Why does God allow a soul to enter an embryo that is going to become a mass murderer. So then I can also ask why did God create Fred Phelps?

The counter argument might be that Homosexuality is inherent and not a choice and that in contrast Hitler and Phelps make moral choices that are within their control. Though they could also be products of their environment and possibly in the future we may find that certain extremely hateful individuals have something physically wrong with their brains (might even be evidence for that now). But it still begs the question in general that God creates and doesn't seem to care about the results that follow. So one could say that just as God allows for people to be bad (whether it's a little or a lot) God also could allow for people to pervert his natural order. And then unfortunately you get into theological warfare as to "what is natural".

I think this is a Christian problem. As an atheist homosexuality tends to be perfectly natural. We can see it amongst primates and other animals. It is not necessarily beneficial to the act of procreation obviously but it is beneficial in keeping peace (sex relieves aggressive behavior), companionship, and the pairing up of the same sex when the opposite sex is lacking. I believe homosexuality simply evolved as part of our complicated sexuality versus the idea that homosexuality is a contradiction to normal procreative heterosexuality. Heterosexual homophobes still have the problem of making the "procreation is natural" argument when they don't call for a ban on all contraception (and those Christians that do are considered on the fringe in America).
